Basics of Creative Writing

    Brief

    In this 4-day workshop, Fatema aims to lead the participants to connect with their innersole by writing their true feelings, fears, dreams, etc. During the workshops, participants will be exposed to a variety of techniques that will help them to reflect and go deeper in their emotions. They will undergo a multitude of writing exercises, and each of them will have the chance to develop a main idea for a writing project.

    Day 1:
    - Writing Objectives.
    - Writing and one’s own self.
    - Where does creativity come from?
    - Where do ideas come from in literary writing?
    - The day will include various discussions, readings and writing exercises.
    Day 2:
    - The power of dreams.
    - The role of pictures in our lives.
    - Story design.
    - Seven steps for story structure.
    - Scene structure.
    - The day will include various discussions, readings and writing exercises.
    Day 3:
    - Characters creation.
    - Developing and enriching the characters.
    - Find your own voice.
    - The variety of writing styles.
    - Feelings transfer and building suspense.
    - The day will include various discussions, readings and writing exercises.
    Day 4:
    - About using memory.
    - The importance of research.
    - Script revision and work assessment.
    - Choosing the publisher.
    - The barrier of writing and recommendations.
    - Completing the main writing project for each participant.
    - Presenting final work for the group.
